Botox is a therapeutic agent produced by making the neurotoxin secreted from the Clostridium bacterium relatively safe for use in the human body. Wrinkles are formed by the continuous and excessive contraction of facial muscles. Injecting Botox into such muscles inhibits the secretion of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that induces muscle contraction, temporarily paralyzing the muscles and relaxing wrinkles.
